This isn't a camp where you show up, run drills, and go home.
It's three days of real access to 12 men who've been where you are · and found something that actually held up.
Check in, get your room, eat together. Then the weekend starts for real: games, live worship, and a session built around one question - who actually are you? You'll meet your small group and your athlete leader before the night's out. First impressions hit different here.
Morning kicks off with a live Athlete Panel where your counselors get real - actual stories, actual answers to questions you submitted. No script. No filter. The afternoon is full-send: team competitions, tournaments, lake time, and sports with the pros. Saturday night brings the main session - worship and a message that challenges everything you thought you knew about yourself. Small groups close the night. Those conversations tend to be the ones you remember.
Final breakfast, a short devotional, and time to sit with everything the weekend put in front of you. You leave by 8 AM - but you don't leave the same. Encouraged. Challenged. Clear on who you are in Christ.

We get it. You're sending your son somewhere new with people he's never met. Here's everything you need to feel good about that decision.
Not at all. The WAI Retreat exists for any high school sophomore, junior, or senior boy - athlete or not. The mission is singular: reshape the way young men see themselves by helping them discover their identity in Christ. The NFL professionals here aren't showing up as coaches - they're showing up as men of faith who've had to answer the same question your son is wrestling with right now. Who am I when the jersey comes off? When the world stops defining me? Three days of faith-based experiences, real mentorship, and honest conversations designed to move your son past the world's definitions of success - and into something that actually lasts.
13+ NFL players have committed to being present for the full weekend - not as celebrity guests, but as counselors, small group leaders, and mentors. They lead the live Athlete Panel on Saturday morning, participate in on-field activities, and engage directly with campers throughout the weekend. These are men of faith who have walked the same road your son is on and are showing up to talk about it honestly.
Almost everything. The $495 covers 2 nights of lodging in Nashville, all meals and snacks from Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast, access to all sessions and activities, team competitions, the live Athlete Panel, small group sessions, and an official Retreat t-shirt. The only thing not included is camp linens. Closer to the retreat date, you'll receive an email with a full packing list so your son knows exactly what to bring.
Campers stay in cabins with their assigned small groups. Adult leaders and athlete counselors are present throughout the weekend, including overnight. Safety and supervision are taken seriously - your son will have consistent, named adult oversight from arrival Friday through departure Sunday morning.
The Retreat is non-denominational and Christ-centered. The teaching and small group conversations are rooted in Scripture and focused on identity - who your son is in Christ, not performance, approval, or comparison. Boys from any church background (or none at all) have attended and felt at home. The environment is welcoming, not preachy.
The Retreat is a phone-free weekend - and that's intentional. One of the most powerful things that happens here is what occurs when your son is fully present, without the noise. That said, you will never be out of reach. A dedicated staff phone number will be provided to all parents before the retreat begins. If you need to speak with your son, call that number and we'll connect you. Your son also has access to that same phone at any time if he needs to reach you. You'll have the number. He'll have access. Everyone stays connected - just not distracted.
Campers are responsible for bringing their own bedding, towels, and pillows - those are not provided. Beyond that, a full packing list will be sent out prior to camp so your son knows exactly what to pack and shows up ready for the full weekend.
Please note any dietary restrictions or medical needs in your registration or reach out to us directly at info@waiministries.org. We want every camper to be set up for the full experience and will do everything we can to accommodate your son's needs ahead of time.
After your son registers, you'll receive a waiver via email that must be completed and returned before June 19. The waiver covers standard participation and medical release language.
